It’s Christmas (already), and you’re no doubt getting on with your Christmas shopping. Unfortunately, not everyone puts as much thought into their gifts as you do – it’s practically inevitable that you’ll end up with an unwanted jumper (or three). With all the rush around Christmas, it’s difficult to find time to return unwanted presents! How will you schedule in a trip to the shops to exchange Little Timmy’s geology set for the Hatchimals playset he’s been going on about? Don’t panic, though – many retailers have extended return policies for Christmas gifts! We’ve compiled a list of the biggest names to help you figure out how to get rid of your unwanted gift – check our useful table and infographic, below!

Please note that you always have the right to a refund for any faulty gifts returned within 30 days, no matter whether it’s Christmas or the middle of July. Otherwise, the dates for returns are marked in the table below. If the start date is blank, it’s because the returns period applies to gifts bought “before Christmas” – if you’ve bought the gift as a Christmas present around the period of December, you should be fine. If you’ve made a purchase between the dates marked by the two coloured dots that mark your retailer on the calendar below, you’re eligible for extended returns up to the final return date (marked on the calendar).
