16/01/2018 The appeals process for penalty fares on National Rail services is currently changing – and you can be a part of it!
Transport Focus and the Department for Transport are currently looking for around 12 individuals to join the new Independent Appeals Panel for National Rail penalty fares.
The panel will act as the third step of the appeals process, looking at evidence and the train operator’s penalty fares scheme to come to a decision on appeal cases.
This an important role, as the panel will make sure that National Rail’s penalty charge system is fair and reasonable for passengers.
Panel members will work remotely via IT systems, with the possibility of working at evenings and weekends. A per-case fee will be paid.
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is passionate about getting consumers a fairer deal! If you’re interested, you can find more information here
The deadline for applications is Friday 16th February 2018.
