Our work with Media

Since its inception in 2014, Resolver has grown to be the biggest free complaints website in the world, with more than four million users (and counting). 

Resolver’s role is to reflect and report on the issues and concerns that our users seek help with. A main function of our work with the media is to discuss the issues that are driving complaints and provide context about what our users are complaining about.

Resolver is able to provide tips and guidance for what needs to change to tackle the issues being raised, while advising consumers on how best to avoid getting into difficulties in the first place. Our extensive data on more than 100 different products and services is regularly featured in national, broadcast, regional and specialist media. The scope and extent of our data means we’re able to provide a focused look at the issues our users are seeking help with – beyond the broader figures about the volume of complaints we receive. 

Our spokespeople

Alex Neill – Resolver Group CEO 

Alex has been the CEO of the Resolver Group since December 2019. She has spent nearly 20 years working in leadership roles in consumer focused businesses and has expertise in understanding consumers and building strong, purpose-driven brands, products and services that deliver the right resolutions for all. 

Prior to Resolver Alex spent more than a decade at consumer champion Which? in senior roles such as Managing Director of Home Products and Services and Director of Policy, Campaigns and Communications.

A passionate and approachable leader who enjoys communicating, Alex is a regular speaker at industry events concerning consumer issues and consumer rights across all sectors. She is available for comments and interviews across all consumer issues in the UK. 

Martyn James – Head of Media 

Martyn is Resolver’s Head of Media and a leading commentator and spokesman on consumer issues. He is a money and consumer rights expert with 20 years of experience working with print and broadcast media. Martyn has appeared on more than 5,000 radio and television interviews and regularly contributes to  national publications for Resolver. 

Martyn is available for comments, quotes, in-depth investigations and background briefs on every consumer rights story and sector in the UK. 

Nikki Stopford – Chief Operating Officer (interim)

Nikki joined Resolver as our interim Chief Operating Officer in July 2021. She is responsible for building on and delivering Resolver’s wide-ranging plans for the year ahead.

Nikki has more than 20 years’ experience in consumer research, publishing, advocacy and policy. She has an excellent track record in using rigorous and innovative research and engagement strategies to shape decisions, to understand and give a voice to consumers, and to improve product design and service delivery.

For 10 years Nikki was Group Director of Research and Publishing at Which? delivering cross-sector research and content programmes designed to grow commercial success, to inform and advocate for consumers, and to positively influence policymakers and business. She was recently appointed Chair of the British Standards Institute Consumer Forum and is a member of UK Power Networks’ Customer Engagement Group.
